Cycling for a Greener Future

Cycle Chesterfield: Making Cycling Safer and Easier

Chesterfield is now more bike-friendly than ever, thanks to Cycle Chesterfield. Their detailed local cycle map highlights quiet roads, dedicated cycling paths, bike racks, and the National Cycle Network, making it easier to navigate the town on two wheels.

But they don’t stop there – Cycle Chesterfield also organises:

  • Guided rides for all skill levels.

  • Hands-on bike maintenance workshops.

  • Exciting cycling festivals to inspire more people to ride.

Need a quick bike fix? Chesterfield residents can take advantage of regular Dr Bike repair sessions across town, ensuring their ride stays in top shape.

Hope Valley Climate Action – Travelling Light

Travelling Light is an innovative, nationally significant sustainable travel initiative aimed at making zero-carbon transport the go-to choice for every resident, visitor, and business in Hope Valley by 2030.

One of its most exciting projects, the bike-bus to school, has encouraged students to cycle together, reducing emissions and sparking crucial conversations about eco-friendly travel in the community.

Tideswell Bicycle Maintenance Club

Keep your bike in peak condition with the Tideswell Bicycle Maintenance Club, a monthly event run by Tideswell and District Environment Group in partnership with Peak Tri Store. Each session features an expert-led demonstration, followed by hands-on support to fix your bike using borrowed tools.

It’s a fantastic way to learn new skills, keep your bike roadworthy, and connect with fellow cycling enthusiasts – all while enjoying a productive Saturday afternoon.
