Free Home Energy MOT Helps Hayfield Residents Cut Costs & Carbon

In 2023, over 100 Hayfield residents benefited from a free Home Energy MOT, thanks to a partnership between Sustainable Hayfield and Marches Energy Agency.

The ‘Hayfield Hundred’ received visits from a qualified local energy assessor, also a local resident, who provided personalised energy-saving advice and free efficiency measures, including:

  • LED bulbs for lower electricity use.

  • Draught-proofing to keep homes warmer.

  • Radiator reflector foil to maximize heating efficiency.

An evaluation of the initiative highlighted its impact in closing the public information gap on home energy efficiency.

If your community is interested in launching a similar program, reach out to Sustainable Hayfield Energy Group for guidance!
